The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) recommends an annual gynecologic examination for women over 21 years of age. The exam encompasses a thorough review of your health history. A breast exam, pap smear and pelvic exam are performed on a schedule appropriate to your needs. A consultation with a gynecologist also presents an opportunity to discuss health concerns such as contraception, exercise, diet, and physiologic changes that occur throughout a woman’s life. Regular examinations allow us to detect changes in your health and to promptly implement any necessary treatment.
